Microsoft has unveiled a unique addition to its product lineup, diverging from its typical Xbox gaming focus. In collaboration with Barclays, Microsoft is set to launch the Xbox Mastercard in the United States. This credit card, sporting the iconic Xbox branding, comes with enticing benefits for gamers.

The Xbox Mastercard boasts several gamer-friendly features, such as a zero annual fee and a lucrative rewards program. Cardholders can earn 5x card points on purchases made through the Microsoft Store, as well as 3x points for streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. Additionally, it offers 3x points for orders placed through popular food delivery platforms Grubhub and DoorDash, while all other purchases earn 1x points.

Moreover, new cardholders will enjoy a generous welcome bonus of 5,000 card points, equivalent to approximately $50, following their first purchase. Furthermore, they'll receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Game Pass Ultimate, which can be gifted to others for existing Game Pass subscribers.

Customization options are available, allowing users to select from five distinctive card designs. There's also an option to personalize the card with a gamertag, although potential additional fees for this service remain unspecified.

Starting September 21, the Xbox Mastercard will be exclusively accessible to Xbox Insiders in the US. For the broader audience, applications will open in 2024. It's important to note that the fine print, including interest rates and terms, should be reviewed for a comprehensive understanding of the card's specifics. One notable detail is that card benefits may be revoked for individuals with suspended or locked Microsoft accounts, potentially affecting those who breach Microsoft's code of conduct. The card offers varying annual percentage rates (APRs) of 20.99%, 26.99%, or 31.99% based on the applicant's creditworthiness.
