Modern Warfare III Zombies: New Trailer Unveils Eerie Thrills and Familiar Faces
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III unveils its debut Zombies mode in a thrilling trailer, featuring Viktor Zakhaev and Aetherium serum, promising an expansive open-world experience with both human and supernatural foes. Launching on November 10.
In an exhilarating new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, fans got their first tantalizing glimpse of the game's highly-anticipated Zombies mode. As expected from this legendary first-person shooter series, the trailer delivers an eerie and tension-filled atmosphere, now spiced up with some new (yet strangely familiar) undead faces. This edition of Zombies marks a groundbreaking moment as it debuts in a Modern Warfare title for the very first time.
The trailer kicks off with a team of four mysterious operatives donning night vision goggles as they infiltrate a facility strewn with lifeless bodies. Amidst the grim scene, four corpses are seated around a table, with a device at its center revealing enigmatic glowing vials. An operator exclaims, "They're actually real, they're actually here," and removes his gas mask to unveil himself as Viktor Zakhaev, the iconic Call of Duty antagonist, who will play a central role in the main Modern Warfare III campaign. After seizing the vials, the team makes a hasty exit, only to stumble right into the path of a formidable police force. This introduces a thrilling new element in the upcoming Zombies mode: players will now face off against both human and supernatural adversaries.
Seasoned Call of Duty zombie enthusiasts will recognize the serum as Aetherium, a significant element in the franchise used for techno-biological warfare. The trailer concludes with the appearance of John "Soap" MacTavish, a member of the multinational special operations unit Task Force 141, and the familiar face of Kate Laswell, as they gear up for the impending showdown with Zakhaev.
This sets the stage for the expansive open-world experience that Modern Warfare III's zombie mode promises to deliver. Players can expect a player-versus-environment extravaganza across diverse regions, each offering escalating levels of difficulty and undead density. The accompanying official blog post assures gamers of "a greater quantity of undead than ever before" and a blend of "the very best of Modern Warfare map features and systems with the tried-and-true core features of Treyarch Zombies."
The reimagination of the classic Zombies mode will be accessible to players when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches on November 10 for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. In typical Call of Duty fashion, preordering Modern Warfare III grants players access to the beta, once it commences.
