Assassin's Creed Mirage PC Requirements: A Breath of Fresh Air for Gamers

Assassins Creed Mirage, set to launch on October 5th, boasts PC requirements that are notably forgiving, accommodating older hardware and offering reasonable storage demands, a departure from recent trends.

In today's era of ever-increasing PC hardware demands, especially for achieving smooth 1080p/60fps gameplay, it's truly refreshing to witness some major game titles still catering to those with older hardware and limited storage capacity. Surprisingly, the highly-anticipated release of Assassin's Creed Mirage by Ubisoft falls into this category.

As the October 5 launch date approaches, Ubisoft has unveiled the PC system requirements for Assassin's Creed Mirage, setting it apart from recent blockbuster releases that often prompt gamers to rush out for graphics card upgrades or new SSD purchases.

For players content with experiencing AC Mirage at 1080p resolution, on low graphics settings, and at 30 frames per second (fps), the minimum hardware needed includes a GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB), which happens to be the third most popular GPU among Steam survey participants. Alternatively, an AMD RX 570 or an Intel Arc A380 will suffice. On the CPU front, the minimum recommendation is an Intel Core i7-4790K (Intel Core i5-8400 for Intel Arc with ReBAR) or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. Additionally, the game calls for a minimum of 8GB of RAM.

Stepping up to the high preset for 1080p gameplay at 60fps, Assassin's Creed Mirage still remains quite accommodating, requiring an Intel Arc A750 8GB, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (6GB), or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6GB). On the CPU side, you'll need at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, while the RAM requirement increases to 16GB.

Even at 1440p resolution, the hardware demands are quite reasonable: an Intel Arc A770 (8GB), Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 (8GB), or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8GB) are recommended, paired with an Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X.

For gamers aiming to fully utilize their 4K monitors, the game recommends at least an RTX 3080 (10GB) or an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (16GB), along with an Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.

These system requirements stand in stark contrast to many recent and upcoming titles. For instance, Forza Motorsport labels an RTX 4080 as "ideal," Lords of the Fallen demands an RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6700 for 1080p gameplay, and Immortals of Aveum, despite facing development setbacks, sets the bar at an RTX 2080 Super as its "minimum" GPU.

In addition to the forgiving hardware specifications, gamers will be pleased to note that Assassin's Creed Mirage only requires 40GB of SSD space. This is a welcomed deviation from the trend of massive game installations, with some titles exceeding the 100GB mark as the new standard.

Assassin's Creed Mirage promises a return to the franchise's roots, offering a smaller in-game city and a heightened focus on hunting and assassinating targets. Gamers can look forward to its release on PC via the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store, as well as on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna on October 5th.
